Gate 18: Correction
Gate 18, known as "Correction", is one of the 64 gates in the Human Design system, corresponding to Hexagram 18 of the I Ching. Each gate represents a specific archetypal energy that influences how you interact with the world. When activated by the Sun at the time of your birth, this gate becomes a core part of your design.
This gate operates across 6 lines, each adding its own variation to the gate's expression. Your specific line (1-6) determines how you personally embody this energy — whether through investigation, natural talent, adaptability, externalization, universalization, or role modeling.
Gene Key 18: The Spectrum of Transformation
The Gene Keys system, developed by Richard Rudd, maps each of the 64 gates to a spectrum of consciousness with three levels: Shadow, Gift, and Siddhi. Gate 18 holds the transformational journey from Judgement (shadow frequency) through Integrity (gift frequency) to Perfection (siddhi/highest frequency).
At the Shadow level of Judgement, this energy manifests as a challenge or unconscious pattern. As you become aware and embrace this shadow, it naturally transforms into the Gift of Integrity. At the highest level, the Siddhi of Perfection represents the full flowering of this energy in its most divine expression.
